Pressure Cooker Egg Pulao / முட்டை புலாவ்

We can make tasty and yummy Egg Pulao in Pressure Cooker in extraordinary texture. It is so easy to prepare and  the taste is awesome too, its my favorite dish too with few ingredients.

I have used country eggs for this recipe and egg pulao goes well with onion raita (thairu pachadi) or any spicy curry of your choice.

    Pulao Masala powder
  • To a Dry pan add these Spices Mace, Star anise, Cinnamon, Pepper cons, Cloves, Cumin seed, Cardamom.
  • Dry roast the spices and grind into a fine powder
  • Pulao Masala powder is ready for to make Egg Pulao
  • Egg Roast
  • To a pan, add Oil, Turmeric Powder, Chilly Powder and salt. Mix it well
  • Make small Cuts on the Egg and add it to the Pan. Saute for about a minute and keep it aside.
  • Preparing Egg Pulao
  • To a Pressure Cooker add 3tbsp oil 5tbps ghee. Add the freshly made pulao masala and saute for few seconds keeping the stove in low flame to prevent the burning the masala powder.
  • Add bay leaves and 2 sliced onions (i haven taken small size onions) saute the onions until the onion are golden brown.
  • Add 3 tbps of ginger garlic paste and add 3 chillies.
  • After raw smell is gone, add 1/2 tbps turmeric powder and 1 tbps chilly powder . If you are a spicy ;lover, you may add another 1tbps of chilly powder.
  • Add a handful of Mint and Coriander leaves, saute till the raw smell is gone.
  • Add cashews at this stage.
  • Add 5 tbps or 1/2 cup cup of yogurt / Curd
  • At this stage add half a glass of water and salt as per your taste
  • Once water started boiling add rice
  • Add water 3cups water for 2 cups of basmati rice
  • Add the seasoned boiled egg and cover it with the cooker lid. Cook for Only 1 whistle on a high flame and turn off the flame.
  • Now our tasty Spicy Hot Homemade pressure cooker Egg Pulao is ready to serve with Onion Raita or any spicy curry of your choice. Enjoy!!


If you want you once the Pulao is cooked you can add 1 or 2 tbsp saffron milk (soak 5 strands of saffron in warm milk for 10 minutes ) to get nice color of the pulao. I skipped this step.
