Easy and quick to make Yummy Homemade Apple Fritters! This is an absolutely delicious dessert with ice cream and kids snack.

Apple Fritters are usually made with all-purpose flour. However, in this recipe, I have used wheat flour and Jaggery /Cane Sugar (nattu sakarai) as it is a healthier option and the taste is just awesome too.

It is a healthy evening snack for kids and adults.

    Cooking Apple with jaggery
  • Peel the skin for 2 Apples and cut them into small pieces as shown
  • Heat a Pan in medium heat and add butter
  • Add apples once the butter is fully melted
  • Saute the apples until it color changes golden brown and soft as shown
  • Once the apples are soft, add jaggery/cane sugar (nattu sarikarai)
  • once the apples and cane sugar have blended togeather, remove them from the flames and leave it aside to cool.
  • Preparing Apple Fritters Dough
  • Take a bowl, add an egg and whisk it well
  • Once the egg yolk and white are blend together, it is ready to add the flour
  • Add 1/2 wheat flour and 1/2 tbps baking powder and mix it
  • Add the apples and mix it well
  • you may add 5 tbps water / milk of your choice to bring the mixture to fritter consistency (Do not make the mixture watery)
  • Frying Apple Fritters
  • Add oil to a pan and heat it to a medium heat and reduce the flame to low.
  • Use 2 spoons to make the dough into small balls and add them to the pan.
  • Once the dough turns into golden brown, flip it to cook the other side . It takes only about a minute to cook each side
  • Your hot delicious homemade apple fritters are ready to be served with honey or maple syrup.


Note :  You may use cinnamon for extra flavor or add nuts in apple fritter batter. If you like tangy taste, you may  add 1tbps lemon juice to the batter. I have used jaggery as it is healthier option, instead you may use white sugar or demerara sugar.
