Dal Fry / Toordal Fry

I simply love dal, this authentic dal fry is quick to make and delicious too. We can many recipes in dal like soup, thick porridge etc.. and especially  its babies food. It is full of protein and healthy too. Usually dal is good combination for most of dishes.

  • I have taken 1 cup dal and rinse the dal or lentils until the water runs off clear and then in pressure cooker add water (2 to 2 1/2 cup water) , turmeric powder and washed toordal. Close the pressure lid and cook for 2 or 3 whistles in high flame.
  • Heat pan add oil or ghee and add mustard seeds. once mustard seeds started popping, add cumin seeds. onions and red chilles. Satue until onions become translucent.
  • Add Tomatoes, saute until get smashed
  • Add cooked toor dal.
  • Add some water and mix well.
  • Let it boil for 10mintues in medium flame.
  • Now transfer into bowl and add some corainder leaves tooped with some ghee. Serve it with hot rice or roti.

Notes

For Dal fry you can use any kind of dal or lentils.

I have used oil here for to fry dal , you can use ghee as well.
