Cheese Stuffed Mushroom Bonda

I have cooked this Cheese Stuffed Mushroom Bonda with simple ingredients and is kind of a continental and Indian fusion.

Usually, we make bonda with Potato, however, for this recipe, I have used mushroom and cheese as stuffing.

This recipe will be ready in minutes as an evening snack and kids would love it.

    Preparing the Bonda Filling:
  • First, wash and Clean the Mushrooms. Separate the stem and the cap. Cut the Stem into small pieces and save the Cap for frying.
  • To a Pan add oil (You may use any oil of your choice like Sunflower / Vegetable / Coconut / Olive oil)
  • Add the chopped onions and saute well
  • Add the chopped mushroom stem and saute for 2 minutes
  • Once the Mushroom stem is cooked, add Pepper Powder.
  • Add Oregano and Saute well.
  • Add salt for the filling at this stage and Saute well. Transfer it into a dry bowl and let it cool for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Add Cheese and mix it well. The filling for our Bonda is ready now.
  • Preparing & Frying Mushroom Bonda:
  • Use the mushroom cap
  • Fill the mushrooms with the cheese and onion fillings one by one and keep it separate
  • To a Bowl add Gram Flour
  • Add Chilli Powder and Salt.
  • Add water and mix it into a slow-flowing consistency mixture. NOTE: don't add too much of water as it wouldn't cover the Mushroom and filling would pop out when frying.
  • Dip the Filled mushroom caps. Use a spoon and Fork
  • Heat a Pan and add oil. Add the Mushrooms gently and cover it with Lid
  • Covering with the Lid would prevent from Oil spill if the Cheese pops out of the mushroom coating
  • Flip other side after 2 minutes and cove it with lid again. Be cautious if you are using a Gas Stove and make sure you cover with Lid when frying the Mushrooms
  • Our Super cheesy mushroom Bonda is now ready. Do try this recipe and share your experience in the below comment section. Happy Cooking!!!

Notes

You may use finely chopped carrot, Beans, or any vegetable of your choice for filling.

When choosing the mushrooms for this recipe, do not pick large or very small ones. Choose Medium size mushrooms as it gets cooked quickly, holds enough fillings, and needs less oil to Fry.
