Carrot Ladoo/கேரட் லட்டு/Gaajar ka Ladoo with Coconut sugar

Delicious and Healthy Carrot Ladoo with coconut sugar. It is absolutely one of my favourite desserts always. In this recipe, I have used ghee to saute the carrots and have not used any milk. As an added advantage I have used coconut sugar because it is healthier, Chemical free and nutritious.

This is a quick, easy and tasty recipe  with 4 ingredients

    Grating carrot in 2 Methods
  • Method 1 : I have used this side of the Grater to Grate the carrots and then used mixer to make it as a coarse mixture without adding water.
  • Method 2 : You may use this side of the Grater as well, however but the time you grate all the carrots, the grated carrots would have tuned into a dark colour.
  • Roasting Nuts and Raisins
  • Heat a small Pan in medium flame / Heat and add Ghee. When the ghee is medium hot, add cashews first, when it is golden brown, add raisins and allow 30 seconds. Filter the cashew and raisins and move them into a separate small plate / bowl.
  • Preparation
  • In a large pan, add one table spoon ghee and add carrots.
  • Saute carrots until it turns into a dark golden colour as show in the picture and add 1/2 cup coconut sugar and mix them together.
  • When the carrot and Coconut sugar is mixed well. Take the pan out of the stove. When the mixture is mild hot, add cashew, raisins and 1/2 teaspoon of cardamom power. Mix them together.
  • Roll them in to a small balls and decorate with grated Almond / Pista as show in the picture. Your Healthy Carrot Laddu is ready!!! Try this healthy recipe and leave a comments about experience with this recipe!! Thank you!!!


  • Instead of coconut sugar you can use Cane Jaggery / Brown sugar or Palm Jaggery as well.
  • Coconut sugar may give mild tangy taste, I like this flavor so I have used Coconut sugar.
